Frequently Asked Questions

What is the average word count for articles and blog posts on Clutch and/or Coco + Creme?
The word count varies. Typically, feature stories run somewhere between 600-800 words; daily blog posts range from 300-600.

What’s the difference between a “feature” and a “daily?” A feature is a long, in-depth piece that serves as a highlight of our weekly issue. A daily is a brief  post that appears on our daily blog.

How much does Clutch pay for articles?
Our pricing varies — depending on topic and assignment, plus online and print experience. A proposed rate will be assigned after your pitch has been approved.

Why was my pitched declined?
Reasons may include, but are not limited to, the following:

My article/post was published; why haven’t I receive payment?
We request that all writers send an invoice via Paypal in order for us to process payment. We pay net 30 days after your piece(s) have been published on the site. If we do not receive an invoice we are unable to issue payment. If you have submitted an invoice and have not received compensation after 30 days, please contact us immediately.

Do you accept published pieces?
No. We like to keep things fresh and authentic here at Clutch and will not accept content that has appeared on other sites.

I would like to pitch a celebrity interview and/or profile of myself or client. How would I go about doing that?
We are not a celebrity-focused website and rarely publish interviews or profiles. That said, if you develop a concept that you think is a good fit, give us a holla at pitches@pitchclutch.com.

Do you offer internships?
Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer internships.

I submitted a pitch. How long does it take to find out if my pitch was accepted?
Due to the sheer volume, please allow up to 30 days for word on the status of your submission.

I need to submit my invoice. To what email address should I sent the Paypal invoice?
info@clutchmagonline.com

My invoice has not been paid 30 days after publish date. Who should I contact?
Please email Dede Sutton at dsutton@clutchmagonline.com.
